The time when we remember our deceased loved ones and celebrate All Saints' Day is approaching. With this time of year comes a reflection on the values that have been carefully preserved and protected over generations. We think of those who have left us, but also of our own health and the well-being of our loved ones.

Professor Hardell and professor Nyberg have written an open critical comment on GIA – the Commission's proposal for deployment of 5G millimetre technology. "The proposal unilaterally favours telecom industry and would pave the way for much denser 5G infrastructure technology, mainly millimetre wave technology (26 GHz and above)," they say. Professor Hardell and professor Nyberg have written a Critical comment on the SCHEER final opinion that recommends that EU adopts ICNIRP 2020 guidelines. "There is overwhelming evidence that exposure to RF levels well below the ICNIRP limits are harmful to human health. The effects are clearly established and range from increased risk of cancer, DNA damage, oxidative stress, harmful effects on the brain, wellbeing, reproduction and the environment".

The very productive Swedish/Danish team has produced an updated version of their Critical Review of SCHEER Opinion on Health Risks from Radiofrequency Radiation. The report covers the SCHEER final opinion published in April 2023. Among some of the changes were:

• SCHEER now claims that 5G will not double the output power compared to 4G as was said in the draft version. Now they say the output power is the same.

• SCHEER no longer claims that there is “strong evidence” against an effect on the heart. Among those who reacted to that previous unscientific claim was the French Agency ANSES.

US disability groups win fight to be included in health equity research. Will this be helpfull for EHS? The National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities (NIMHD), designated people with disabilities as a population with health disparities for research supported by the National Institutes of Health. This paves the way for addressing causes of those health disparities between those with and without disabilities. Despite efforts from the EHS and MCS community, the committee finally reports not to include self-identified disability.

Many people did their best: Magda Havas, Erica Mallery-Blythe, Susan Molloy, Sheena Symington and Elizabeth Kelley gave an invited presentation to the National Council on Disability. And they asked for disability research among people with environmental illnesses to be included in the long-term research programme of the National Institute on Disability, Independent Living, and Rehabilitation Research.

5G is being rolled out all over the world, but information from the media about potential health risks has been sparse. The harmful effect has even been claimed to be non-existent by a long line of entities captured by Big Tech, such as the WHO, the EU Commission, and research institutions financed by telecommunications industry.
