ICBE-EMF Scientists challenge WHO
In its latest paper the International Commission on the Biological Effects of Electromagnetic Fields critically examines World Health Organization’s evaluation of the literature on RF radiation and adverse health effects. The paper of ICBE-EMF asserts that methodological weaknesses and potential biases compromise the reliability of the by WHO published reviews.
In a press conference ICBE-EMF presented the findings detailed in its paper. ICBE-EMF concludes that the WHO-commissioned systematic reviews do not provide proof of safety for cell phones or other wireless communication devices, nor do they justify the RF radiation exposure limits currently specified in ICNIRP’s guidelines.
The organization calls for urgently needed, science-based public health guidelines that are genuinely protective of human health and the environment. Meanwhile, it is calling on the industry not to wait for governments to take action, but to develop safer technology, and is warning the general public to be cautious with wireless devices.

Unplug to Uplift
Children around the world now spend the vast majority of their waking hours glued to screens.
Now is the time to pause and consider how we might better help our children develop the wisdom they will need to steward technology in the service of Life.

Now also cell phone ban on schools in Italy
From this school year onwards, the use of mobile phones is banned during lessons and school hours is prohibited in all Italian schools. Several European countries already have mobile phone bans in schools, including France and Greece, where the use of phones in class and sometimes throughout the entire school day is prohibited. Denmark is working on a national law to ban them in schools for children between the ages of 7 and 17.
Luxembourg and parts of Switzerland also have restrictions, while most schools in England have introduced a ban. Although there is no national ban in the Netherlands or Belgium, the governments advise strongly against their use in schools and many schools are introducing their own bans.
Tip to reduce radiation exposure: Store mobile phones in lockers, either switched off or in aeroplane mode.
A farewell message from Save Belgium
In 2021, Save Belgium initiated two legal proceedings against the general exposure limits for radiation and against their increase for the purposes of 5G. Unfortunately, the court cases have not been won. Now Save Belgium would like to thank all its supporters by a letter that was sent to ESC.
It takes a lot of courage to put this just cause in the hands of judges. It may take even more courage on the part of judges to look at a case with an open mind and recognise that the legal framework is inadequate.
ESC would like to thank Save Belgium for its efforts and all the work it has put into bringing these matters before the courts. A favourable ruling would have benefited everyone.
We mention their case in our list of cases here: esc-info.eu/en/legal-cases/ with tags #Radiation #Belgium #InProcess #2022
