News from the Board
The end of the year is coming near. A good opportunity to look back at all work we have done together under the umbrella of ESC
The Board would like to thank all readers, members, and partners for supporting the development of our important work, participating in debates and working groups, and collaborating across continents and countries.
We are very pleased that during the year, we have gained new member organisations from Poland, Cyprus, Belgium and Germany.
With our working groups and teams we were able to do a lot of work, also in 2025. Just to name a few of the activities:
- We held a webinar for the European medical sector on the impact of EMF on children, with the participation of internationally renowned researchers.
- We are supporting The International Declaration on the Human Rights of Children in the Digital Age, among other things by producing a attractive educational video with several language translations, that may be used generally.
- EHS gatherings in Belgium and the Netherlands were organised.
- With the involvement of physicians we continued our initiative getting WHO to recognize EHS as an environmentally based disease and to establish diagnostic codes in the ICD-11 system. Please ask your doctor to register at icd.who.int and support our proposal here.
- We continue having concerns about the views on health risks of EMFs of the European scientific committee SCHEER. This year we have participated in the long-standing work behind the scenes resulting into the EU Ombudsman launching an investigation on how the European Commission has handled concerns about the EU institution called SCHEER.
We hope to continue our good cooperation in the year to come and wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
ESC - Council of Experts
Europeans for Safe Connections (ESC) has taken the initiative to establish a council of experts, which will function similarly to a think tank. Additionally, we may be able to support the experts, possibly with donations for initiatives such as publishing books, promoting their works, or even supporting research directly.
Our aim is to serve as a platform that enables individual experts/researchers to reach a wider public through our member organizations. The platform would also allow researchers to connect and collaborate with each other across disciplines, should they wish to do so. In other words, we envision creating a centre of knowledge and expertise, supported by a team of dedicated researchers/scientists and experts.
More details will follow later.
GIA enters into effect
The Gigabit Infrastructure Act (GIA) is now in force. It aims to speed up the rollout of high-speed connectivity across the EU by lowering costs and simplifying procedures for deploying fibre and 5G networks. While the European Commission presents this as progress, our NGO cannot welcome this development. We have consistently opposed these rules due to their shortcomings in protecting health, the environment, and local autonomy — and despite our efforts, the act has now been adopted.

News about ESC´s website
We are currently undertaking a major translation project for our website. More and more languages will be added on an ongoing basis. We are fully aware that language barriers are one of our biggest challenges when working across borders in Europe.
At the moment we have - in addition to English - German, French, Czech and Danish. |
