High-speed broadband in the EU \u2013 review of rules<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

About this initiative: <\/strong>EU rules on high-speed broadband (Directive 2014\/61\/EU) aim to enable fast internet connection for people across the EU by reducing the related costs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Feedback from Europeans for Safe Connections<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

We „Europeans for Safe Connections<\/strong>“ are very concerned with this initiative and the Proposal for a regulation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We do not agree<\/strong> with the Article 3 point 1: „Upon written request of an operator, public sector bodies owning or controlling physical infrastructure or network operators <\/em>shall meet all reasonable requests<\/em><\/strong> for access to that physical infrastructure under fair and reasonable terms and conditions, including price, with a view to deploying elements of very high capacity networks or associated facilities.<\/em>„
In this way the local municipal laws are overruled<\/strong> and the industry can set up any kind of device no matter what local citizens want. This is in a contradiction with another initiative – Recommendation on civic engagement – the initiative that aims to promote measures to support broad, meaningful participation by civil society organisations and citizens. https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/info\/law\/better-regulation\/have-your-say\/initiatives\/13748-Recommendation-on-civic-engagement_en<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We welcome<\/strong> Article 8 point 1: „All buildings at the end user\u2019s location, including elements under joint ownership, newly constructed or undergoing major renovation works…shall be equipped with <\/em>a fibre-ready in-building physical infrastructure<\/em><\/strong> up to the network termination points as well as with in-building fibre wiring.<\/em>„
Cables reduce energy consumption, increase data security, provide stable internetconnections and do not emit harmful EMF radiation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We do not agree<\/strong> with the Article 8 point 2 and 3: „All multi-dwelling buildings … shall be equipped with an access point.<\/em>„
This is in contradiction with the Right to Physical Integrity. People are neither informed nor do they give their consent to the radiation from access points<\/strong>. EU must respect each person’s right to mental and physical integrity as per Article 3 of CFR and safeguard human health, privacy, security. This includes avoiding any disturbance and interference in their biological, chemical, electrical and sensory processes and systems from RF EMF.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
