    Cyber resilience act \u2013 new cybersecurity rules for digital products and ancillary services<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    About this initiative: <\/strong>This initiative aims to address market needs and protect consumers from insecure products by introducing common cybersecurity rules for manufacturers and vendors of tangible and intangible digital products and ancillary services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Feedback from Europeans for Safe Connections<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    We \u00ab\u00a0Europeans for Safe Connections\u00a0\u00bb welcome this initiative and we would like to add some important improvements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Article 10 is about obligations of manufacturers. Among the obligations there is also to publish INFORMATION AND INSTRUCTIONS TO THE USER further defined in Annex II – that is the list of information that the product with digital elements shall be accompanied by.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    We suggest to add this information to the list for the user to know:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \u2014 If the device communicates with other devices or is connected to the Internet, the user is informed about the exact list of transmitted data, the frequency of data transmissions, the recipient of these data, what is the use of these data and also about the method of processing of these data and whether automated processes are used and what kind of them (e.g. artificial intelligence, neural networks, expert systems).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Annex I defines ESSENTIAL CYBERSECURITY REQUIREMENTS<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    We suggest to add this requirement to the list:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \u2014 If the device communicates with other devices or is connected to the Internet, the user can use as many functions as possible in an offline mode. When connected, all kinds of connections are equal: both wired and wireless.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    These suggestions are in line with the proposal 22<\/a> and proposal 7<\/a> of our european citizens’ initiative \u00ab\u00a0Stop 5G \u2014 Stay connected but protected\u00a0\u00bb<\/p>\n\n\n\n
