We have just received a letter from Teresa Anjinho, the European Ombudsman, that she has decided to launch a formal investigation. She will look into how the European Commission has handled concerns expressed by a group of NGOs about a scientific Opinion issued by the EU institution called SCHEER.

Breaking: Federal Communications Commission hid radiation levels test results🔗

The Environmental Health Trust's latest Freedom of Information requests have revealed that the Federal Communications Commission hid test results showing that radiation levels in smartphones tested in its own laboratories exceeded federal radiation limits when tested in positions close to the body, e.g. in a pants pockets.

France must curb child, teen use of smartphones, social media, says panel🔗

Children under 11 should not have a mobile phone. The use of smartphones with internet access should be banned for children under 13. Social media apps should be banned for all under-15s, and minors over 15 should only access "ethical" platforms, according to a report by an expert panel appointed by the French President.

The people of Seine-Port have decided, in a unique referendum, to restrict the use of mobile phones by residents and visitors in front of schools, on the street and in shops, public places and associations, due to the harmful effects of excessive screen time, especially for children. Ministers have confirmed that mobile phones will be banned in English schools. Many schools already prohibit phone use during school hours to help students concentrate on their lessons and engage with their friends and teachers. Schools will be able to choose an approach to prohibiting mobile phones which suits them.
