Gao et al. 2025 study provides evidence supporting a causal relationship between the duration of mobile phone use and aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage. Excessive mobile phone use may increase the risk life-threatening brain bleed caused by a ruptured aneurysm in the brain's subarachnoid space.

Addictive Screen Use Trajectories and Suicidal Behaviors, Suicidal Ideation, and Mental Health in US Youths🔗

A 2025 study by Xiao et al. on a cohort of 4285 US adolescents found that over a 4-year period, 31.3% had increased social media addiction and 24.6% had increased mobile phone addiction. High and increasing rates of addictive screen use were both associated with suicidal behaviour and ideations and poorer mental health.

A 2025 study by Brown et al. found that in a living person exposed closely to cell phone radiation, red blood cells begin to clump together and form clumps resembling stacks of coins. This effect in vivo can cause a number of health problems as clumped blood cells flow less easily and can impact oxygen delivery in the body.

Summary of seven Swedish case reports on the microwave syndrome associated with 5G radiofrequency radiation🔗

A summary of case reports over a two-year period found that 16 of the study persons developed microwave syndrome or other serious health symptoms after 5G base stations were installed around their homes. Most people were able to move to another home without 5G. Their symptoms were reduced or disappeared.

Evaluation of oxidative stress and genetic instability among residents near mobile phone base stations in Germany🔗

S. Gulati et al (2024) did not find significant DNA damage and/or oxidative stress due to being near mobile phone base stations (MPBS). However, chromosomal aberrations, cytogenetic damage, higher levels of lipid peroxidation and oxidative DNA lesions significantly increased in residents with higher exposure to RF-EMF from MPBS.

Mobile phone specific radiation disturbs cytokinesis and causes cell death but not acute chromosomal damage in buccal cells: Results of a controlled human intervention study🔗

In Michael Kundi et al.'s (2024) study, participants received UMTS signal doses with a SAR of 0.1-1.6 W/kg via headsets for 2 hours on 5 consecutive days. Buccal mucosa and micronucleated cells collected from both cheeks before and 3 weeks after exposure showed clear evidence of cell cycle disruption and cytotoxicity.

A 2023 Iranian study concluded that the radiation from mobile phones can cause reduced motility, morphological changes, acrosome disorders, and ultimately, damage to the nucleus and the genetic material due to oxidative stress. The sperm genome damage can lead to infertility and endanger the reproductive health of offspring.
