Law and Politics
The working group was formed at the Second European EHS Gathering in Rièzes on 18th June 2023.
Objectives:
To review existing and proposed EU and national legislation regarding the development and implementation of technologies emitting EMFs to identify any areas of concerns with respect to potential adverse consequences for humans, wildlife, and the environment.
To construct robust arguments with supporting evidence to demonstrate the inadequacies and potential risks of each of the specific sections of concern within the legislation.
To formulate and disseminate written material:
- To inform the general public, local and national authorities and politicians about the risks and shortcomings of existing and upcoming legislation.
- To lobby politicians to initiate appropriate amendments to the legislation to eliminate the risks and introduce relevant safeguards.
- For potential use in future litigation where applicable / necessary.
Present focus:
Recognition of electrohypersensitivity as a disability
The group is working on the recognition of EHS/EMR-S as a disability.
