Objectives:

  • To review existing and proposed EU and national legislation regarding the development and implementation of technologies emitting EMFs to identify any areas of concerns with respect to potential adverse consequences for humans, wildlife, and the environment
  • To construct robust arguments with supporting evidence to demonstrate the inadequacies and potential risks of each of the specific sections of concern within the legislation
  • To formulate and disseminate written material:
    • To inform the general public, local and national authorities and politicians about the risks and shortcomings of existing and upcoming legislation
    • To lobby politicians to initiate appropriate amendments to the legislation to eliminate the risks and introduce relevant safeguards
    • For potential use in future litigation where applicable / necessary

Present Focus

Raising awareness of the inadequacies and potential risks of the current draft of the Gigabit Infrastructure Act (GIA) and lobbying to get appropriate amendments made before it is passed into law.

The working group will follow this legislative procedure until the GIA is either adopted, amended or dismissed.
