Igor Beliaev et al. (2026) responds to the exchange of views between Mevissen et al. and Karipidis et al. by elaborating on how evidence from biological cancer tests in animals should be analyzed and interpreted to identify carcinogenic risk, focusing on evidence synthesis, statistical inference, and exposure relevance.

According Azzazy et al. (2026) the male rats exposed to 2.5 GHz radar EMR at an average density of 200 mW/m² for 1 hour daily for 28 days showed acute oxidative stress, leading to a significant effect on fertility. Taurine reversed these adverse effects and was proposed as a protective agent for radars wave-exposed workers.

A 2026 study by M. Nilsson and L. Hardell based on the Swedish registry showed a sharp increase in diagnosed sleep disorders in Sweden. The number of children and adolescent aged 5–19, who were diagnosed with a sleep disorder, increased 17-fold between 2001 and 2024.

The study by Er et al. 2025 found that exposing rodents to 2100 MHz radiofrequency radiation may have adverse effects on auditory sensory memory. Researchers also observed mitochondrial damage and edema in certain cellular structures.

The study on rodents conducted by Cakir et al. 2025 showed that the 2.45 GHz electromagnetic radiation caused non-thermal effects such as oxidative stress, inflammation, and testicular damage, while alpha-lipoic acid acted as a protective agent against EMR-related reproductive toxicity and infertility risk.

The 2025 study by Zhaowen et al. found that exposure of paternal mice to 5G RFR radiation induces anxiety-like behavior and sperm quality impairment in male offspring. The adverse effects are linked to hypermethylation of the paternal LRGUK gene. The results suggest epigenetic transmission of specific traits via sperm.

Oprea et al. 2025 in a study comparing digital models of the human body, shows that children absorb much more RF radiation than adults under equal conditions. The findings underscore the need to consider anatomical differences when assessing SAR exposure and to adopt stricter safety standards for different population groups.

By Cakir et al. 2025, exposure of human brain cells to 2.4GHz can cause molecular, structural, and functional changes similar to autism and contribute to neurodevelopmental disorders. The study bridges the gap between animal models and human neurodevelopment and shows the specific effects of RF radiation on human neurons.

Levitt et al. 2025 warns that 60 years of increasing ambient non-ionizing EMF (0–300 GHz), and especially 5G/6G and satellite RF, creates 24/7 low-intensity „air pollution“ that disrupts the navigation and biology of wildlife. Current exposure limits only protect humans. The authors propose specific wildlife protection policies.

A 2025 study by Calvert et al. on a cohort of 373 younger adults in the US showed that limiting social media use for one week was associated with a 24.8% reduction in depression, a 16.1% reduction in anxiety, and a 14.5% reduction in insomnia, with no significant change in loneliness.

Gao et al. 2025 study provides evidence supporting a causal relationship between the duration of mobile phone use and aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage. Excessive mobile phone use may increase the risk life-threatening brain bleed caused by a ruptured aneurysm in the brain’s subarachnoid space.

Exposure to 2.4 GHz electromagnetic fields emitted by Wi-Fi devices could have an indirect impact on the regulation of genes involved in Alzheimer’s disease, particularly those related to oxidative stress and cellular homeostasis.

A new 2025 study from Sweden has displayed an alarming increase in memory problems among children and teenagers in Sweden and Norway. The dramatic increase in radiation exposure from wireless technologies, which has occurred during the last decade, is presented as a potential contributing factor.

ICBE-EMF Challenges WHO-Commissioned Reviews on Wireless Radiofrequency Radiation Safety in its latest paper. The paper critically examines the WHO-commissioned systematic reviews on the health effects of radiofrequency (RF) radiation, identifying significant flaws that undermine their conclusions regarding safety.

A study by Hardell et al. (2025) demonstrated a causal link between radiofrequency radiation from mobile phones and an increase in the incidence of thyroid cancer in women and men. Based on data from the Swedish Cancer Registry, the highest increase in thyroid cancer incidence was observed between 2001 and 2022.

A 2025 study by Ilgaz et al. showed that exposure of rats to 6 GHz RF-EMR (0.065 W/kg) for 4 hours a day during 42 days resulted in histopathological and DNA changes in liver tissue. The authors stated that their study was the first one to specifically address the genotoxic and histopathological effects of 6 GHz RF-EMR.

A 2025 study by Baldini et al. shows that cell phones and wireless local area network access points can significantly reduce sperm motility. The authors recommend against introducing mobile phones into IVF laboratories as well as placing Wi-Fi repeaters away from areas where biological material is handled.

A 2025 study by Xiao et al. on a cohort of 4285 US adolescents found that over a 4-year period, 31.3% had increased social media addiction and 24.6% had increased mobile phone addiction. High and increasing rates of addictive screen use were both associated with suicidal behaviour and ideations and poorer mental health.

Panagopoulos et al. (2025) explain in a voluminous literature review how EMFs produced in wireless communications, as fully polarized coherent microwaves with random highly variable intensity, modulated and pulsed at extremely low frequencies, can promote cancer, infertility, electrohypersensitivity, and other pathologies.

A major review of studies in experimental animals by Meviessen et al. 2025 found strong evidence that high frequency electromagnetic radiation exposure increases the risk of cancer, with the strongest evidence for malignant heart and brain tumours. This systematic review was commissioned by the World Health Organization Office.

A 2025 study by Brown et al. found that in a living person exposed closely to cell phone radiation, red blood cells begin to clump together and form clumps resembling stacks of coins. This effect in vivo can cause a number of health problems as clumped blood cells flow less easily and can impact oxygen delivery in the body.

K. Deena et al. (2025) analysed the major impact of short-term exposure at 2.4 GHz on chicken embryos and on human neuroblastoma cells. Short-term exposure induced moderate cellular and molecular changes, mainly oxidative stress. Extended exposure to EMR beyond 4 h may pose adverse health risks to humans.

In contrast to EHS in science the existence of hypersensitivities is accepted for various other environmental influences. Unlike EHS e.g. ionising radiation does not require an answer as to whether it can be felt. Dariusz Leszczynski advocates the use of proteomics to better understand the relationship between EMFs and EHS.

The 2024 study by Dr. De-Kun Li indicates a potential association between the regular carrying of cellphones in trouser pockets and an increased risk of colorectal cancer among young adults.

The 2024 University of Zagreb study investigated the effect of 5G RF-EMR on in vitro exposed boar sperm. The highest DNA damage was found at 2500 MHz and 3500 MHz. The 3500 MHz frequency showed the most harmful effects due to significant effects on cell membrane integrity, DNA integrity and sperm vitality indicators.

The 2024 Sorbonne Université study provided a testable mechanistic framework for the pathology of EHS with therapeutic implications for this debilitating and poorly understood condition. The case patient´s pathology revealed a large increase in circulating antibodies to oxidative stress by-products from RF-EMF exposure.

2024 A Korean animal study reported that exposure to RF-EMF 1850 MHz at 4 W/kg SAR for 5 hours per day for 4 weeks disrupted synapse formation and function in the cerebral cortex of early postnatal mice and showed the potential to affect developmental stages of the nervous system and cognitive functions.

The ICBE-EMF´s goal is to see EHS formally recognized as an EMF-induced external cause of injury by public health agencies worldwide. Such recognition should lead to increased public awareness, research funding, and the provision of low-EMF spaces for homes, workplaces, schools, and general public access for EHS people.

The findings of Zhou et al. (2024) study suggest that besides age, a known factor, prolonged and frequent use of Bluetooth headphones may be associated with an increased risk of developing thyroid nodules, potentially linked to the cumulative effects of NIR emitted by the headphones on the thyroid gland.

A summary of case reports over a two-year period found that 16 of the study persons developed microwave syndrome or other serious health symptoms after 5G base stations were installed around their homes. Most people were able to move to another home without 5G. Their symptoms were reduced or disappeared.

Panagopoulos (2024) found that mobile telephony EMF at a power density ~136 times below the ICNIRP limits significantly enhanced the action of gamma radiation. People undergoing ionising radiation treatment should be instructed by their oncologists/radiologists to not use cell phones for several days around treatment.

S. Gulati et al (2024) did not find significant DNA damage and/or oxidative stress due to being near mobile phone base stations (MPBS). However, chromosomal aberrations, cytogenetic damage, higher levels of lipid peroxidation and oxidative DNA lesions significantly increased in residents with higher exposure to RF-EMF from MPBS.

A 2023 Turkish clinical study examined the effect of mobile phone use during pregnancy on cord blood levels of oxidants and antioxidants. Given the significant potential for oxidative stress in cord blood, the authors advised that pregnant women should protect themselves and the foetus by minimising exposure to mobile phones.

Professor Tom Butler’s 2024 paper considers objective evidence from peer-reviewed scientific studies in cognitive psychology, neuroscience, and related disciplines, as well as the field of education itself, to review the fundamental problems that beset Digital Technology use in education.

Exposure of rats to 6 GHz RF-EMR delayed pain perception to hot plate and radiant heat stimulation and statistically significantly increased pressure and nociceptive pain, found M. Emre et al (2024). The study points to the need for precautions against possible adverse human health effects from RF-EMR due to the rise of 5G.

In Michael Kundi et al.’s (2024) study, participants received UMTS signal doses with a SAR of 0.1-1.6 W/kg via headsets for 2 hours on 5 consecutive days. Buccal mucosa and micronucleated cells collected from both cheeks before and 3 weeks after exposure showed clear evidence of cell cycle disruption and cytotoxicity.

A 2023 Iranian study concluded that the radiation from mobile phones can cause reduced motility, morphological changes, acrosome disorders, and ultimately, damage to the nucleus and the genetic material due to oxidative stress. The sperm genome damage can lead to infertility and endanger the reproductive health of offspring.

Research shows that microwave radiation has many adverse health effects at levels of everyday use by children and adults, including cancer and neurological disorders. Scientists argue it is far past time to set safe exposure levels and apply the precautionary principle to protect children, pregnant women, adults.

During 2023 and January 2024, seven case studies have been published in scientific journals on the health effects of exposure to real 5G radiation from base stations. The studies, probably the first in the world to study the health impacts of real 5G exposure, all show that 5G is harmful to human health.

A 2023 Slovakian study found that mobile phones expose significant parts of the human head and other parts of the body to extremely low frequency magnetic fields (ELF MF). The measured and simulated ELF MF values were comparable to those reported to induce biological and health effects, including those related to carcinogenesis.

Study published in Science of the Total Environment by Monica Torres-Ruiz et al., (2024) found the RFR exposure led to „specific organ morphological effects, and behavioral effects in activity, anxiety-like behavior, and habituation that lasted in larvae exposed during the early embryonic period.“

Study found that gliomas and cardiac schwannomas in rats resulting from lifelong exposure to low-dose far-field RFR used in cell phone communications are morphologically similar to low-grade human gliomas, and that ~25% of the mutations seen in these tumours have corresponding alterations in human cancer genes homologs.

A 2023 systematic review by A. Thill, M.-C. Cammaerts, A. Balmori summarised the results of studies investigating the toxicity of electromagnetic fields in insects. The review found consistent evidence of harmful effects of LF and RF EMF on insects, based on 119 quality-assessed studies published since 1980.

A 2023 Belgian research suggest that ELF-MF higher than 0.4 µT can increase the risk of developing leukemia in children, probably acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Prolonged exposure to electric appliances that generate magnetic fields higher than 0.4 µT like electric blankets is associated with a greater risk of childhood leukemia.

A 2021 Korean systematic review and meta-analysis reported that „Statistically significant associations were observed between exposure to ELF-MF and childhood leukaemia. Furthermore, the intensity of the association between exposure to ELF-MFs and childhood leukemia was high, as indicated by the dose–response effect.“

Slovakian 2023 study revealed discrete abnormalities of complex cardiac autonomic regulation indexed by HRV measures dependent on the effects of 4G and Wi-Fi networks. It seems that direct exposure to high radiofrequency EMF may be associated with a higher risk of cardiovascular complications already in healthy youth.

A Dutch scientific study provides compelling statistical evidence for the occurrence of increased alpha wave activity in the brain when participants in the research were exposed to mobile phone signals.

The results of the study showed that mobile phone use was significantly associated with a higher risk of incident overall cancer and highlighted the importance of limiting mobile phone use or keeping a distance from mobile phones for the primary prevention of non-melanoma skin, urinary tract, prostate and vulvar cancer.

The results of this study should raise increased awareness among healthcare providers such as gynaecologists and midwives about the harmful effects of electromagnetic waves from electrical appliances, mobile phones and the wireless internet on pregnancy and reduce the risk of spontaneous abortions.

A new case study on the health effects of 5G exposure shows that an whole family of two adults and three young children suffered symptoms of microwave syndrome while on holiday near a 5G mast. After returning home, where radiation levels were significantly lower, the symptoms disappeared and the family’s health recovered.

Worldwide, insects are declining at an alarming rate. Among other causes, the use of pesticides and modern agricultural practices play a major role in this. Existing research indicates another factor also: the increasingly frequent use of electromagnetic fields (EMF) from man-made technologies.

The review from James C. Lin concludes that many of the recommended limits are debatable and require more scientific justification from the standpoint of safety and public health protection. It also mentioned that the institutional guidelines do not sufficiently reflect the conclusions of science organisations such as IARC.

Olejárová et al. (2022) study examined the effects of 24h exposure to 2.4 GHz RF-EMF on a tumor suppressor miR-34a and a colorectal cancer cell line DLD1. It has found that RF-EMF can shift the influence of miR-34a tumor suppressor in cancer progression from typical tumor-suppressive to neutral or slightly oncogenic.
