Study: Seeking Participants with Electromagnetic Hypersensitivity
A research team led by Principal Investigator Dr. Beatrice Golomb of the Golomb Research Group at the University of California in San Diego is seeking participants for a genetic study investigating electromagnetic hypersensitivity (EHS) and its associated symptoms.
The study aims to explore why some people experience symptoms they associate with exposure to electromagnetic signals and to investigate potential genetic factors that may contribute to this medical condition. Researchers hope that a better understanding of these factors could provide insights into the underlying mechanisms of EHS and help identify potential treatment options.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Individuals who experience electromagnetic hypersensitivity (EHS).
- All individuals who feel they suffer from this condition are welcome. Individuals do not need a confirmed diagnosis.
- Interested individuals will complete a screening survey for eligibility.
Study Participation Includes:
- EHS symptoms survey
- Cheek swab sample for DNA collection
- Testing is free
- You will get access to your whole genome data.
Study’s Purpose: Research team seeks to learn why some individuals experience electromagnetic hypersensitivity. Understanding genetic risk actors will help them to understand the mechanisms of EHS, which can help identify candidate treatments.
