Michèle Rivasi has passed away
In memoriam
Michèle Rivasi 9 February 1953 – 29 November 2023
We are sorry to hear that Michèle Rivasi is no longer with us. She died suddenly at the age of 70 due to a heart attack on Wednesday 29 of November.
She has served as a French member of the European Parliament in the Greens/European Free Alliance group since 2009 and has been known for supporting many causes to protect public health and the environment.
She is highly praised by the people that have had the opportunity to work with her. Europeans for Safe Connections will always remember her courageous fight for acceptance of health effects of EMFs and her passionate advocacy for recognition of EHS. She was fighting for true acceptance of EHS, and she wanted to open up society for people with EHS to participate. She was the founder of the Association Zones Blanches with the aim to find safe places to live for people with EHS.
She also made an effort to change the view of the European Commission, whose interest in introducing 5G has always been merely an economic one without considering the adverse effects on health and environment. To compensate for this, she was one of the initiators of the EP reports on the environmental and health effects of EMFs in the light of the roll-out of 5G. Furthermore, she initiated a report that clarified the bias and lack of independence of ICNIRP, the organisation that provides the EMF exposure guidelines.
She made a strong appeal to the European Commission, already now having plans for 6G and an Internet of Everything, to never again introduce a new technology without a full impact assessment on health and the environment.
Her demand for justice and for an open mind in politics continuously needs to be answered. May her messages echo on!
Her inspiration, integrity and political stand will be deeply missed.
Our thoughts go to all her family and her dedicated staff in the Parliament.

We are very thankful for Michèlle Rivasis work for better ecological standards in Europe and will never forget her strong empathy and dedicated work for better protection of the growing minority of electrohypersensitive persons. The new film of the investigative journalist Klaus Scheidsteger “The digital dilemma” as well as her investigative report with Professor Buchner about the conflicts of interest of the so called “International Commission for Nonionizing Radiation Protection” published by http://kompetenzinitiative.com will be a memorial for her fight agains pollution with radiation. We take Michèlle Rivasis sudden death as a challenge to continue her work on a national and European level.

I will always bear in mind her words said on workshop in Brussels:
“Everyone is so focused on business, on money… but we have built Europe based on people, based on peace, based on wellbeing, based on the future.”
